A new year is often seen as a fresh start and clean slate for many. It’s a time when people set goals and resolutions for themselves, ensuring the year to come will be better than the last.
For our Pierce PR team, it’s a time to pause and reflect on what the last year brought us, both personally and professionally – new team members and clients, women-owned business certifications, several speaking and professional development opportunities, non-profit board involvement, a wedding, a baby girl and so much more.
While 2022 was a great year, we’re filled with optimism, hope and excitement for what’s to come. We’re grabbing our new agendas, fresh notebooks and plenty of coffee as we begin the new year.

Last March, we welcomed our first child, Hattie, into our family. They say the days are long but the years are short, and that rings true. I feel as if I looked up and all of a sudden, my baby is almost a 1 year-old. That said, I’m looking forward to celebrating Hattie’s first birthday with friends and family in the Spring!
Mckenzie Masters, Senior Account Manager
I’m a sucker for a fresh start and a new adventure, and this year I’m excited to have both of those in my life! I’m officially starting a new role as a Board Intern with the Ronald McDonald House Charities here in Nashville (a fresh start), and I’m planning a first-time, once-in-a-lifetime trip to Italy with my Italian family (a new adventure). It will definitely be a year to remember!
Bri Carlesimo, Senior Account Manager
With a history teacher for a mom and an adventurer for a stepdad, this year has been a long time coming. I recently booked my first ever solo trip to Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day. I have the family passion for exploring new places and getting lost in the rich history our world has to offer. I could not be more excited for all that Emerald Isle has in store.
Carson Brown, Account Coordinator
We’re starting the year with *THREE* new team members, all of whom bring new expertise, capabilities and perspectives to our team. I can’t wait to see them thrive and contribute to our growth and the success of our clients.
I also started the year by booking a trip to Saint Lucia with my husband. We’re going in February, right as the winter season starts to feel extra long and dreary. I am looking forward to soaking up the sunshine and beauty of this magical place (and welcome all suggestions/tips if you’ve been there!).
Julia Bonner, President
At the end of 2022, my then-boyfriend, Pierce (quite the name, I know), asked me to marry him! I’ll have a packed schedule in 2023, complete with planning my dream wedding, working towards my law degree, and helping our clients build their brands, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Kara Weller, Communications Specialist
As a military family (for now), we’ve been stationed in a particularly boring place for the last two years, and we finally get to move to a sunnier location in the fall of 2023. I’m looking forward to new adventures with my little family! I’m beyond grateful for the flexibility Pierce PR offers during this season of my life.
Sarah Mickle, Director of Operations
Pierce PR has afforded me an extraordinary opportunity to be a member of a public relations team in a way few interns get to experience. Entering my second semester as an intern, I’ve learned how to report regularly to a supervisor, but now my process will include coordinating with the entire team each time I sign on for a shift. I’m looking forward to working on a wider variety of projects with frequent input from our growing team of talented communicators!
