Senior Account Manager

The Senior Account Manager (SAM) is a leadership role focused on managing client relationships, executing strategic PR initiatives and mentoring junior team members. This position ensures that PR efforts align with business objectives and deliver measurable results. The ideal individual has an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for excellence and excels in strategic thinking. 

Key priorities include client retention, operational efficiency and team leadership, with additional responsibilities in supporting new business development and identifying opportunities for account growth. While SAMs help uncover expansion opportunities, they do not directly own revenue growth targets. 

This role requires expertise in media relations, content development and strategic planning, along with a strong ability to guide both clients and team members. Annual responsibilities and KPIs are reviewed quarterly to track progress, provide feedback and support professional development.

core Responsibilities:

  • Proactive Client Engagement: Maintain 2-3 strategic touchpoints per client per quarter (ex: sharing relevant industry news or proactive check-ins after missed calls) to demonstrate initiative and address potential concerns early. 
  • Client Success: Achieve all clients’ defined PR goals, such as media placements, content targets and award nominations. 
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve client concerns promptly and effectively within 48 hours or less. 
  • On-Time Deliverables: Ensure all client-facing work (press releases, media outreach, strategic plans) is completed and delivered on time. 
  • Account Growth: Identify and recommend at least 3 upsell or cross-sell opportunities, helping to drive a 10%+ annual revenue increase from existing clients. 
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Actively mentor and coach junior team members, providing regular feedback and growth opportunities. 
  • Team Onboarding & Support: Assist in onboarding new junior team members by providing guidance, answering key questions and ensuring full integration into workflows within their first 30 days. 
  • New Business Contribution: Lead discussions and presentations during assessment proposals. Support new client onboarding and seamless account transitions into active engagements. 
  • Client Leadership: Take full (100%) ownership or guidance of client meetings, ensuring clear and actionable strategic direction for junior team members. 
  • External Leadership: Hold an annual leadership role (ex: board/committee membership, leadership program) in a professional, community or business organization (PRSA, Chamber of Commerce, nonprofit board, etc.). 
  • Innovation & Growth: Continuously seek and implement new ways to improve workflows, client relationships, and media strategies through digital tools, emerging technologies and new media connections.

Account Coordinator

The Account Coordinator (AC) is an entry-level role focused on supporting client accounts, executing day-to-day PR tasks, and building a strong foundation in media relations, content creation and digital marketing. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of client deliverables while gaining exposure to strategic PR and marketing efforts. 

Key priorities include timely execution, proactive communication and developing strong organizational and problem-solving skills with additional responsibilities in media research, content development and social media management. The AC will work closely with account teams to ensure quality work while contributing meaningfully to client success and growing their expertise in public relations. 

This role requires attention to detail, adaptability and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Annual responsibilities and KPIs will be reviewed quarterly to track progress, provide feedback and support professional development. 


core Responsibilities:

  • Task Management: Complete assigned tasks (content creation, media research, social media support, etc.) on time and at a high quality. 
  • Deliverable Accuracy: Ensure all written materials (press releases, social media posts, blog drafts) meet agency standards and require minimal grammar-related revisions and demonstrate an understanding of content's strategic focus, tone or message with no major rewrites needed. 
  • Project Coordination: Lead the organization and updates of client deliverables and trackers, ensuring deadlines are met. 
  • Team Communication: Keep internal teams informed of task progress and proactively flag any challenges or questions. 
  • Media Outreach Support: Support the development of media pitches and press releases and assist in securing and identifying media opportunities. 
  • Content Writing: Draft press releases, blogs and social media copy, ensuring quality and alignment with client messaging and historical content. 
  • Social Media Execution: Lead the creation, publishing and reporting of social media content for assigned clients. 
  • Graphic Design Support: Lead the creation of social media graphics and email visual assets using Canva.
  • Email Program Management: Lead the development of client email campaigns, including writing compelling copy, designing visuals and ensuring proper formatting. Manage scheduling, audience segmentation and analytics tracking to optimize engagement and results. 
  • Website & Analytics Support: Manage basic website needs like copy changes and newsroom updates, publish blog posts and develop analytics reports. 
  • Client Reporting & Documentation: Manage and update client agendas and monthly reports on an ongoing basis, ensuring accuracy and timely input. 
  • Learning & Development: Attend at least one PR or marketing-related professional development event per quarter. 
  • Proactive Contribution: Take initiative in team meetings by offering ideas, insights, or solutions. 
  • Team Collaboration: Be a reliable team player, assisting in ad hoc projects and supporting senior team members.

HR & Team Experience Leader

Our rapidly growing PR firm is looking for an exceptional HR leader to support our talented team and help drive the business forward. Reporting to the firm’s president and working closely with the senior leadership team, the best candidate for this newly created role is someone with strong business acumen who is passionate about recruiting and retaining talented professionals and developing processes and systems to support the growth of people, culture and the business.

Ongoing Responsibilities:

You will serve as a member of the firm’s senior leadership team to ensure all HR functions within the firm are properly executed in accordance with best practices – all while leveraging HR to drive business growth. 

Recruitment
  • Lead all recruitment efforts for junior, mid-level and senior-level staff in line with business objectives; manage year-round internship program
  • Represent the firm at job fairs, university career days and other strategic recruitment venues

Performance Management
  • Develop, standardize and lead effective processes for promotions, performance reviews; and team check-ins; includes training for all managers
  • Provide guidance, trusted counsel and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues, including performance management, employee relations, benefits and compliance
  • Onboard new employees and offboard departing employees; oversee termination process
  • Oversee company's CultureWise program, ensuring core values and fundamentals are integrated into the business

Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Strengthen employee engagement and enhance firm’s culture via coordination of teambuilding activities, culture-amplifying events, regular engagement surveys, and more

Learning & Development
  • Facilitate training, educational and mentorship programs, and events that contribute to team member learning, development, well-being and growth

Compliance
  • Promote a fair and equitable work environment where diversity in all its forms is embraced and valued
  • Understand and remain current with relevant employment laws and regulations; identify and mitigate legal risks related to HR matters

General HR
  • Serve as a resource for all team members, keeping a pulse on overall team health, addressing any HR-related issues and ensuring each team member is in the right seat
  • Work closely with the firm’s president on special HR-related projects; participate in strategic thought leadership opportunities that benefit the firm
  • Identify and manage outside HR-related vendors/business partners as needed (e.g., payroll and benefits)

This is a full-time role (40 hours/week) based in Nashville, TN. The team operates in a remote environment but meets periodically for in-person team meetings, client events and more.
